Summer Plans

This summer is going to be the first and last time I ever have two and a half months off to do exactly what I want when I want (At least until I retire or take a career break I guess!). I'm so looking forward to it, but I also don't want to waste any time, so I'm giving myself some goals to work towards, and when September comes I'll look back and see how well I did!

I have so many things I want to do in this time, but I thought here I'd focuss on my style plans, and crystalize all the random little things into five big goals.

1. Take good care of my skin.

I'm not too bad, but over exams my routine certainly slipped, and I think my skin (face and body) could do with some serious rejuvination. I'm going to

.Up my vitamin intake via lots more fruit and vegetables
.Give myself a serious facial
.Exfoliate! Exfoliate! Exfoliate!
.Get better at moisturising and wearing suncream regularly, as well as giant sunglasses and hats!

2. Try new things with my hair

I've had long hair for as long as I've been able to throw temper tantrums when my mum tries to cut my hair(!) but all I usually do is blow dry it straight every day - boring! I'm going to

.Try out some youtube tutorials
.Experiment with leaving my hair longer between washes
.Start collecting hair inspiration pictures along side the masses of fashion picutres I've saved

3. Clear out my wardrobe(s)

Oh this is so overdue! I have a pretty huge wardrobe (or, ahem, two..!), but even so it's bursting at the seams! I'm going to

.Ruthlessly get rid of everything broken beyond repair, old, ill fitting or just not me any more
.Make sure everything I do have is clean, ironed, not broken and put away nicely
.Maintain my wardrobe in a decent state so I can see everything easily and nothing gets crumpled
.Plan my outfits in advance so I don't throw clothes everywhere trying to find something to wear each morning!

4. Reinvent a capsule working wardrobe

I have worked in part time and summer various jobs including at my new job as an intern, but September is the first time I will be a full time proper employee, so looking the part just became even more important. I'm going to

.Look through my current clothes carefully and work out what is and is not appropriate for the office
.Buy a good quality versatile suit and some decent shoes
.Put together a capsule wardrobe that will last me approxiamtely two weeks without having to think 'I have nothing to wear today'!

5. Rejuvinate this blog

I'm having so much fun keeping a blog, but I think it could be even better! I'm going to

.Redo the layout so it isn't just the blogger standard template
.Increase my post schedule from four to five days a week
.Comment more on other peoples blogs. There are so many I read and knowing how much I enjoy getting comments on my own posts I want to share the love!
.Hopefully meet a few fellow bloggers in real life!

What are you doing this summer?

Great list! My summer plans: traveling, practising lots of piano and clarinet, reading as much as possible, spending loads of time with family, getting fit/healthy!

Sounds like a lovely summer. I am spending it in London (I'm an American co-ed studying abroad) and I, too, have some things to accomplish:

--Try every crazy-sounding food I come across
--Get some fashion tips from observing the Brits (fashion where I'm from is so blah.)
--Take plenty of cheesy pictures
--Make people say, "Europe was good to you!" when I get home.

P.S. Love your blog, have been reading it for a little bit, but commenting for the first time. :)
