Things I Love Thursday

Haven't done one of these in a while! Actually, I thought it was wednesday for most of today!

.Lotions and Potions. I had a clear out of my *groaning* bathroom shelves this week, and it's now neatly ordered and tidy. I had no idea how many products I use!

.Vanity Fair. I watched the film on a plane a couple of years ago, and finally got around to picking up the book in Siena because I had a five hour bus journey, and it had 811 pages! It's so deliciously catty it's fantastic. I'm a few pages short of the end now, and I almost don't want to finish. Becky Sharp is evil, manipulative and fantastic, and I'm rooting for her the whole way through, no matter how many people she ruins on the way. Elizabeth Bennett who? Becky wins hands down!

.Being home. It's been nearly two weeks now, but I love being home! My bed, my bathroom, my wardrobe! Heaven! I get changed several times a day just because I can.

.Being healthy and happy. It's been a tough week in a lot of ways. Last night there was a fire in the flat across the hall from where my sister lives. Noone was hurt but it was pretty scary for her and the two flats opposite hers are comletely gutted from the fire. On top of this my cousin recently lost someone close to her in very tragic circumstances. It got me thinking about how lucky I am, and also how you never really know what's around the corner, so be happy now, y'know? (heh, that's about as deep as I'm going to get, moment over now I promise!)

.Shopping!fail. About five times over the past week I've tried to go shopping and failed somehow. Bad for me, good for my bank balance at least!

.Being busy. I bitch and complain like mad about how much I have on at the moment, but in truth I've got so many fun things lined up over the next two weeks I really have nothing to complain about.

I second the shopping fail! There have been some interesting pieces in the shops lately, but many of them just don't suit the vast majority of people for various reasons. Though I did manage to spend £50 in H&M last night (hurray for late-night shopping!) which slightly relieved me of my panic. Go to a huge H&M!

I'm in exactly the same shopping rut. I've gone out to shop but have failed considerably.
As for Vanity Fair: I love that movie. I saaw it a few years ago and always have to watch it when its on tv. As for the book, I bought it ages ago, but never got round to reading it...Becky Sharp really is a remarkable character though.

Becky - I so need to go to a decent H&M, all the pictures I've seen of their new season stuff looks great, although so far I've only managed to make it to little ones which don't carry many of the more interesting collections.

Sherin - the film is so magical, Reese Witherspoon is perfect as Becky, which considering she normally plays 'nice' characters is something of a surprise! I'd recommend starting the book when you're stuck somewhere and actually have nothing else you can do, as it is really long and a bit difficult to get in to, but once it gets going it's great.
