Daily Outfit - 19th November 2009

After something of a shopping palaver way back in June when I needed to find a black skirt to wear to graduation and naturally left it to the last possible moment, hampered further by the fact that no shops stock black skirts in the middle of summer, my poor graduation skirt has sat in my wardrobe unworn ever since. Deciding it was about time it worked a bit harder I have been trying to come up with a few outfits for it to go with. I think the problem I have is that it's a bit too smart for everyday wear, and yet too short for smart occaisions so it's somewhere in between. Today I decided to try dressing it down with a slouchy cardigan, grey tights and a beret.

Black bubble hem skirt - Miss Selfridge, Black long sleeve t-shirt - Topshop, Long blue cardigan - Topshop, Grey tights - Primark, Black oversize beret - H&M , Black t-bar shoes - Dune , Gold and blue necklace, gold and sliver earrings - Vintage, Watch - Marc by Marc Jacobs

And by the way...

A few days ago Nicola from FAB recently let me know about a really cool VIP swishing party organised by Tampax of all companies(!) that will be happening on the 9th December. It's being held in a (as yet top secret!) location in London. I'm really looking forward to it as there will (naturally!) be lots of drinks and nibbles, the chance to win some pizes and, as is the nature of a swishing party, swap some of my old clothes for some exciting new ones! Best of all I get to take up to nine guests with me, so if you're in London on the 9th December and fancy coming along let me know in the comments!

Aw, I'd love to come to the swishing party, if you have room for little ol' me! I think you've succeeded with dressing down the skirt - with that cardie, it definitely works. Also: green, grey & black = love.

I love the skirt. I have a formalish skirt lying around as well, and have no idea how to wear it!

Oh, I so badly wanted to go to the Swishing party. I was so excited when Nicola told me about it. Unfortunately I fly out on the morning of the 9th!
