Saturday Morning

I am spending Saturday morning as it should be spent - in bed in a floaty new dress with copies of my favourite magazines.

They are Period Living and Homes&Antiques - I am obsessed with old houses, old furniture and interior design. Fashion-wise obviously I love Lula, but without a good source now Borders is no more I am forced to look elsewhere for my fashion magazine fix. I quite like Grazia, because it's weekly and has a good mix of articles and fashion so I pick it up at the station every now and again but it's not big enough to be a truly satisfying read. I have to confess Vogue often bores me - I'm not interested in the articles so all I do is look at the pictures, which I could see online anyway. Harper's Bazaar is still a bit of a favourite, but it gets a bit samey, and all the 'women's' magazines don't have enough interesting fashion shoots for me.

What's a girl to do? If they were all a bit cheaper it wouldn't be so bad, but at £4 a pop I want a bit more from my magazine.

What's your favourite magazine? Fashion or otherwise? Does anyone out there know where you can buy Lula?!

I wish I could find a good fashion magazine! I'm in the same predicament as you. I've never actually seen Lula anywhere, though I heard that WHSmith had it ... I must check!

Hope you have a glorious Saturday. I am off to do some reading for uni about global cultural formations :)

I love Wonderland, POP and I occasionally buy Nylon although mostly it's neon colours and teeny attitudes are super irritating. I used to buy Elle but I can't cope with the awful articles like 'Feminism : was it really worth it?'. Urgh. Vogue bores me to death too - I find it really uninspiring. My bf bought me Italian vogue back from erm, Italy, and I found that infinitely more interesting in terms of shoots.
But yeah, I get what you mean - I have absolutely no interest in articles, or real life stories, I just want clothes!!

I've never really been able to find a good fashion magazine that 'suits' me. I've tried many. Nylon is probably the one I purchase most, though usually it's just if I like the person on the cover. :P

So I stick to my interiors magazines. LivingEtc is my bible!

That's a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. I totally agree with you, mags are so expensive now! I subscribe to Glamour, but I'm thinking of Marie Claire as well now. Cosmopolitans a bit repetitive, and so is Company a bit I feel. I love that you read home furnishing mags though!
