Dress - Vintage, Shoes - Office, Necklace - Vintage, Earrings - Joy

This is the dress with the gorgeous buttons I showed you earlier in the week. I spent a fun time playing with my camera, having major issues trying to get my whole body in the shot! I also managed to get mud all over myself and the beautiful dress (thankfully now all washed out!) I don't think that outside it's quite the spring it is in my heart yet!

The dress is vintage 1950s, my mum bought it in the 80s when vintage wasn't even really a thing, and it's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately that means it hasn't been treated as well as it probably should have been as it was in my dressing up box as a child and then ended up in our cellar(!) for quite a few years. Thankfully it's now rescued and able to have a new lease of life!

Do you have a favourite old piece of clothing with a story?

Oh Harriet, I reallyreallyreally love the photos! Think I've flickr fav'd one :] I wish I had a piece of old clothing with a tale; I have stuff from vintage shops & bits that have been handed down by my Mum but I don't know where any of them have come from, or anywhere she remembers wearing things. This makes me want to grill her, though!

That is such a dreamy pretty dress! I do love those pretty buttons so much.

Unfortunately my mum has not yet let me raid her cupboard..she wants to keep it for herself!

Such a pretty dress, and I love the story, too! Mum and I love to get rid of old clothes, so sadly we don't have very many clothes with interesting stories attached. Despite the muddiness, your pictures remind me of summer! :D

So so lovely, as always. Clearly you mom has as good an eye for lovely things as you! I don't even want to think about raiding our old dress-up trunk... clown hair, ninja turtle costumes... haha.

I wish (wish) I had a dress that lovely that came with it's own story. It really looks great!

Such a pretty vintage dress - looks fantastic on you! I like buying things new so I can create my own stories attached to them, but if they're passed down from a grandmother/mother, that's pretty awesome too.
