Digital World

I have a little bit of a confession to make. And I'm pretty sure it makes me a terrible fashion blogger... I'm actually (gasp!) going to be skipping London Fashion Week this time around!

I know, I know! Crazy right?

I have just too many other things (mainly work, alas!) to do at the moment. I will make it one year I hope, but for the moment I am still on the outside looking in.

One thing I am really excited about this Fashion Week though is how many fashion shows are being streamed live this time around. The schedule is here, and I'm definitely looking forward to sitting in my pyjamas with a cup of tea and my books open (so I feel like I'm working...) watching a few of the shows over the next few days. Fashion Week is in it's very nature a very elitist thing, it's an industry only event, and I understand that completely, I do. But I really feel strongly that fashion can be, and should be for everyone. By showing the footage online, not days later, but at the same time the fashion glitterati are watching the show themselves the fashion world really is waking up to the idea that everyone should get the opportunity to enjoy fashion if they want to.

So I think what I'm really trying to say is if you don't have any invites to glam fashion week parties, you don't have to just stay at home feeling glum in your PJs, you can stay at home in your PJs with a front-row view!

Thanks for the heads up Harriet! I'll be joining you with with the PJ's, cup of coffee and a mountain of uni work to get through - oh the joys of being a student...!

I'm so excited that shows are going to be streamed online, since I'm not going to be in London (nor would I have been invited to anything anyway!)

I've been to Fashion Week shows in the past, and now in the days of the internet and streaming I don't really see what the big deal is - I actually turned down some invites this year because it wasn't worth the trip up to London for me!

Yay. I love how they're digitally sceduled this year. I'm going to try watching twenty 8 twelve.

I've completely skipped LFW - been so busy all weekend, I haven't even had a chance to catch any streaming! Loving seeing the bloggers' favourites though. x
