I did quite well with my New Year's Resolutions last year. I said I would give up sugar in my coffee, which I did, and that I would start running more - which lead to me running the 5km Race for Life in the summer. This year I'll probably make and break the traditional less-food-more-exercise resolution before the first of January is even over so I thought I'd set myself a few blog resolutions to fulfil in the coming year:
.Redo my links page and my about me page. These are both hopelessly out of date, and as Google Analytics tells me also two of the most visited pages on my blog. There are so many new blogs I've discovered since I last updated my links page it is in desperate need of an overhaul. Expect to see your blog there soon!
.Increase my posts to five time a week. At the moment I'm pretty comfortable posting four times a week and it's rare I don't manage this. I'd like to push that up to five times a week in 2011, and I think hopefully I have enough to say!
.Make my blog more 'diary' like. This is sort of tied in with the above point. At the moment most of my blog posts are quite 'planned' and are usually written a day or two before they are posted. Some of my favourite blogs are those which seem a bit more spontaneous, and more 'this is what I did today' and I'd like to make my blog a bit more like that. Obviously my regular posts such as outfits and lazy Sunday links will stay though!
.Comment more. I was very inspired by Amy from Wolf Whistle's mission to comment 500 times in both November and December, because comments really do make the blogisphere a happier, more friendly place. Amy definitely laid down the baton, and although my November and December were ridiculously busy I am determined to give her challenge a go for January.
.Use these tools to build a better blog. When Grit and Glamour tweeted this list I didn't really expect to see much on it I didn't already know about, but wow was I wrong! Now I know what a Favicon is, and how to change it, and there are some great links to learn more about all sorts of other aspects of blogging.
Have you made any resolutions blog, or otherwise this year?
