Nude Nails

I've been wanting a nice subtle pinky nail varnish for ages, so I stole my mother's Boots card and bought this Models Own one on Saturday with her points. Don't worry, I asked first!

The colour is 'nude beige' which sounds so, well, beige, but I actually really like it. I think it would look great with a matt topcoat, so I must get myself one of them as well. It's good to have something I can wear to work as most of my nail varnishes are really bright and not exactly suitable for the professional look I'm attempting to pull off! Plus it matches my bedding!

The only problem is, I picked up a varnish without a barcode on it so the guy at the till swapped it for another one and when I got home I discovered the lid was cracked and didn't close properly. It doesn't seem to have leaked thankfully, but I don't like the idea of slinging it in my makeup bag in case it does. I kind of want to take it back and get another as I think it might dry out really quickly, but I'm not sure if they're just going to think I broke it myself? Plus the Boots near me doesn't do Models Own, so I'd have to go to one further away. Anyone got any experience with returning makeup? Were they ok about it?

Oh boo the pictures won't show up on this computer :( But anyways, it sounds lovely, and i'm definitely tempted to get a matt topcoat as well.

Your pictures aren't working!! I haven't tried to return make up before but I think it's probably a tricky one unless its hasn't been opened. In your case there is a fault so hopefully you'll be successful. The varnish sounds cute

Your pics aren't showing up :( That sucks about the polish, the guy should have looked more closely instead of grabbing the first one he saw!

I've exchanged make-up without any problem in Boots. I bought a lipstick, and found when I got home that it had broken off inside the tube. They swapped it without any question of whether I'd damaged it myself.
As long as you're friendly and polite about it, they should swap it.

Oooo, the colour of the nail polish is so pretty! Shame about the cracked lib. But Danni is right, it would probably depend on the mood of the person at the till.

What a lovely colour! I need to get a nice "neutral" polish. All of my colours are bright or black, and while nice, not always appropriate. I used to have such a nice white-ish gold one, but alas, left it at my parents a few months ago. How I miss it.

Oooh this colour looks really nice! I've seen a few 'nude' shades on some people lately and haven't been that impressed with them, but this one is actually very tasteful i think!! It's almost a light brown!
Haha i love how you said its good because it matches your bedding! :P
Sucks about the cracked lid! i have never returned makeup before but I'm sure if you explained they would be okay with it, unless they have a policy on not returning that type of product!

My mum returned some make up the other week cause it caused an allergic reaction and they were fine with it. I'd return it if I were you, you don't want to have a nailpolish disaster!
I have that colour and I love it. And it does look amazing with a matte topcoat!

I have this colour and it's gorgeous! I originally bought it as a dupe for my Nails Inc. by Diet Coke London one but it's such a perfect colour, I wear it all the time! :)

I love nude nails and have been wearing them a lot lately. At least you know they go with everything.
