Brown Eyed Girl

blouse - primark, skirt - vintage, shoes - from a random shop in America, bangle - marc by marc jacobs

This is such a bargain outfit (for me anyway! I've never managed to replicate the many bloggers who can dress themselves entirely for under 50p!) The skirt was a vintage find in Cow when I was in Manchester. I've been looking for the perfect black leather skirt for ages, and as you can see this is brown, not black, but it fitted so well I couldn't leave it behind!

The blouse is another item I've been hunting for for ages - the ideal sheer shirt which isn't too sheer. Eventually I found this one in primark, and I'm really hoping it survives longer than most of their stuff does because I really like it!

You look so stylish in these photos! I've been loving lightweight silk button-downs lately (I found the perfect rich orange one at an estate sale last weekend), and I'm impressed that you picked up such a great one at Primark!

Love your look. I know that feeling - I love a bargain but a fabulous outfit with pieces for 50p - I can't seem to do it!! Great blouse! I got a couple in the Gap sale recently but one is so sheer I have to wear something under it - found a body is the best option!

Oh Harriet your legs are a source of constant envy to me :( Love that skirt so much, this outfit is definitely one of my faves from you! (and that's saying something when they're all so good)

Ha, I'm one of those bloggers who get things for 50p, but growing up in a family where there wasn't really money for new clothes I'm a pretty experienced bargain hunter! I can walk through a charity shop and have all the best stuff sussed in 10 minutes. I should put that on my Cv...:P xx

Love the use of different shades of brown and cream. That skirt is perfect for your frame, it really suits you.

The style reminds me of an up to date Mad Men outfit.

The leather skirt looks like a great piece. And a sjirt with the right amount of sheerness is always hard to find. Yay for finding this one.

You look so elegant here, the tones suit you so well. I can never truly work well with second-hand or vintage, never being able to find the right fit, even if the item is to die for. My town is admittedly very small though, and i rarely get time or opportunity to leave it.

I would certainly hope the shirt survives too! I have similar design from topshop, probably triple the cost, and it is falling apart already. It's always a gamble! x

Oh, and the shoes are immaculate!

It might be a bargain outfit, but you look a million bucks, Harriet. Great finds! Personally, I prefer brown leather skirts and trousers to black - it's a bit softer. xo

Loving the skirt, absolutely fabulous and the shirt is pretty too. I'm never managed the whole "dressed for less than £5" thing either, but I setlle for the little victories!
