Today's outfit for the Marks and Spencer Challenge is an attempt at pattern clashing without looking like a clown. Did it work!? I don't know. I tried to stick to all the pattern clashing for beginners rules - keep the colour palette minimal etc etc but I still feel that the art of the perfect pattern clash eludes me! Any advice?

I really love this top and skirt though - the top especially  I can tell is the sort of thing I would wear all the time. It's basic but interesting and will go with pretty much anything in my wardrobe.

As I mentioned yesterday, you can vote for me to go to Paris by liking my outfits on the M&S Facebook page if you want, but there's absolutely no pressure to do so, other than, y'know, I like Paris! (Just kidding, there really is no pressure!) If you leave a comment on the facebook page you could win an M&S voucher too!

I think this might be one of my favorite outfits you've ever posted. Perfect pattern clashing! You've got to be one of the best personal style bloggers for having a really original and beautiful sense of style and not just oh look, a dress and a necklace!

I like it when you play with fashion by flirting with various patterns as seen above. I'm sure the team at M&S are very proud of these pictures;-)

I really like the pattern-clashing action here! And the tights are amazing, although patterned tights always scare me a bit when there are colours involved, i worry they make my legs look treetrunky..

I think you get away with it - it is quirky & cute without giving you a headache! Really like the top, I am pleasantly suprised by M&S will need to check it out. x

Dude, you totally pulled off the perfect pattern clash! High fives! And I'm super duper in love with the top (since my favourite top is very similar to it ;).

Harriet, you don't look like a clown! But I'm still terrified of the clashing patterns. I'm just barely getting ok with clashing colours! haha! Good luck with paris and all!

Love the pattern clashing here, it works as all the shades are similar tones - you definitely do not look like a clown! x

Wow! Clashing is certainly the word. I've certainly never been able to pull it off, but I think you're rockin it here. Perhaps a safer version for those wimps such as I would be the top and skirt with plain black tights??

Good job!

I think you've done pattern clashing really well, it's so hard to not look like a clown like you said but I think it works here! I really love that skirt! x

I can't say this is my favourite outfit of yours - although you've done a better job than I'd EVER have managed. I just feel it's lacking in colour and vibrancy. Bit too grey/black/white for the autumn? Happy Friday though, hope you have a brill weekend!

You did a good job on the pattern clashing. It does look like a nice and comfy top. I really love the akirt though.

again, so brave! I am always afraid that I wont be able to make it work with pattern clashing. But after seeing this, maybe I will try a bit! Since I'm hooked on Facebook, I'll go vote :p

Love the skirt, personally not so sure about pattern clashing. I'm quite and... ordered person, and it just goes against that part of me in every way! I reckon you're doing a good job though.
