Heidi

Have you ever tried to take a photo of the top of your head? It's really hard fyi.

I have been growing my hair for a year and three months now, in the hopes that I will one day be able to do proper Heidi braids like Jo and Carrie, but it's still to short, woe! I have discovered that I can do a mini version by plaiting just some of the front part of my hair behind my ears, to create a heidi headband, if you like!

I have realised from these photos I need to get some smaller hairpins though - my ones show up really obviously - I didn't realise until I looked at these photos!

I love this hairstyle! It used to be my default one in summer but now my hair is too short. Do they sell mini bobby pins? I've never seen any xx

Love the plait. I've only attempted it once and failed miserably. It's not to be

Cute look! When my hair eventually gets long enough I'm definitely trying this out x

They look really sweet. I can't do them because my hair is too long. Saying that it is in such bad condition it is going to be hacked off soon. I really liked the version on the models hair at the Valentino PFW show, sort of french braided around the head xx

Yes, I have tried to photo the top of my head before, and it is hard! Haha. I think the first photo is lovely, by the way, even though you can't see the braid. The braid is really adorable too. :)

Love the braids you did. I'm the worst braider ever! I've tried the style with my hair and it ends up being really knotted.

I've tried taking pictures of the top of my head before, so I know that its definitely hard to do!

Love the style, and it makes me weep for my lovely long hair which I had all lopped off in a bid to break out of a hairstyle rut. I now spend lots of time lusting over complicated updos. As you do.

Your hair looks gorgeous, this hairstyle is so pretty
And taking such pretty photos of your hair like that is quite an accomplishment!

I love this hairstyle! I wore it I think twice, but my hair is so frizzy that it just looks like a bunch of fuzz!

How cute is Carrie's video? I love this look. I think (at 36) I could still get away with a loose side plait but not the full on Heidi look.
It's horrible waiting for your hair to grow isn't it? It took me four years to go from a pixie crop to a length that I was happy with... some dark, dark bad hair days in there! I'm glad that's over - but stick at it - it'll be totally worth it.
I did try to take a photo of the top of my head once.. it is much harder than I imagined... I gave up!

I love this! I also am growing my hair... It seems to get to a certain length and not grow any further though :(

This is super sweet! I'm trying to grow my hair again. i always cut it off then decide to grow it, so this time I'm sticking to growing it! In no time you'll be able to do full braids! x
