Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time wishing my life away. I'm not having any major crisis, don't worry(!) but I feel like this year I've spent too much time waiting for the weekend/next month/the time when I'm less busy/another day when I'm feeling more like it and it's not really the way I want to live my life.
So my New Year's resolution this year is to do something new every week. It doesn't have to be a big thing - I totally count cooking a new meal or visiting somewhere I've never been before, but I want to get to the end of each week and not just say 'oh, I didn't do much, just went to work, that sort of thing...' when someone asks me what I've been up to.
I am of the opinion that you don't have to achieve your resolution exactly to win the resolution game - it's enough that it changes the way you live, even a little bit, for the better. Last year I made a number of Blogging Resolutions and although I didn't achieve them all (blogging five times a week was never realistically going to happen!) I feel like having those goals to aim for did make me a better blogger this year.
So see you in a year, and hopefully I'll be able to tell you what a great one it's been - and what awesome things I've done! What's your resolution for 2012?
ps starting early my new thing for this week was to try a graze box - it's delicious! If you want to try one for free I have some freebie codes - email me and I'll send you one!
pps this is my 600th blog post! How ridiculously amazing is that?!

Your resolution is a great idea, and definitely something I want to put into practice too! I always end up thinking I've wasted the weekend or not doing anything interesting when it is possible (even on a budget). xx
I'm with you Harriet, it's always another weekend...another month for me. But right about now I think it's time to make the change and in turn discover a lot more.
Have a wonderful new year xxx
What a good idea! I can't wait to hear what new things you try.
This is a great resolution, I think most of us are guilty of doing very little with our time, and get preoccupied wishing ahead to later plans.
Sounds a great plan! I really recommend a book called 'The Power Of Now', basically encouraging living in the moment rather than wishing half your life away :)
I really want a Graze box but unfortunately my housemate already got one and it's limited to one per household..they do look very tasty!
Your resolution is such a great idea, I don't usually make resolutions but I like the idea of trying one new thing each week. Good luck with your goal! I love Graze boxes, so yummy. x
I love your resolutions, I made a similar one last year because I too was fed up of seemingly not having anything to show for my days!
I put together a small calendar/journal which I told myself I had to write a line or two in every single day listing something good about the day; even if it was something really minor like seeing a pretty sunset. I'm proud to say that I have kept it up and there have only been a couple of days where I couldn't think of anything to note down; but it has really helped me to appreciate the small things in life and also made me actively think about little things to do in my days so that I would have something to put in my journal!
I love the idea of doing something new every week, might steal that idea!
Ah, the age-old problem - I know it well! Thanks for the inspiration :)
I know exactly what you mean. Other than going to work I feel I didn't do very much worth noting this year so I should join you with the resolutions! Congrats with the 600th post and best wishes for the new year!
I love graze boxes. They're delicious.
Doing something new every week is a fab resolution! Good luck.
That's a good resolution.

I love this resolution! I keep meaning to try graze too, it looks so yummy!
I love the idea trying something new every week. I tried something similar this year, and although I didn't stick to it as much as I hoped, it was great fun to do loads of things that I'd been putting off, although this year I need to try not to put things off so much!!
And yey for getting graze boxes - I'm slightly addicted to them! Keep an eye out for all of the new lines they add, there's been some really good ones lately.
xx

I completely agree that this is a good attitude to have in general, and whilst I'm resolved to not make any actual resolutions this year, I think to be able to not have weeks where I'm like 'oh didnt really do anything this week' would be a very good thing indeed!!

One of my resolutions is to do something new every week too! Life's too short, we have to live it!!
Happy 2012!

hehe I agree...baby steps!
Happy New Year!
Yes it is definitely better to live in the moment. I struggle with this a little too. Perhaps that should be my resolution to live for now.
Well done on 600 posts, that is amazing. Happy New Year.
