Sunday Lunch

This Sunday I took a trip to our local farmers' market with James and my mum to purchase bread and cheeses for Sunday lunch. I know for many people Sunday lunch is traditionally a full roast dinner but in my house Sundays are much more likely to consist of a ridiculous quantity of cheese!

It's 1. a lot less effort and 2. just as good if you are cheese lovers like us!

We came home with focaccia and crusty bread, goats cheese with garlic and herbs and some buffalo milk cheese of some description and ate it with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salad, tomatoes and orange juice. Pretty much my perfect meal!

Such a yummy lunch! Reminds me of the ploughman's lunch we had on Sundays in the hall where I used to live as a student back in the 80s.

I only started having "proper" Sunday lunches when I moved in with my boyfriend. Sundays with the family were always about cheese! This looks like perfect weekend food to me, yum yum. x

works for me, i think this whole thing just sounds ace. if i was feeling a bit flush i would go with some port but if not maybe some kind of smoothy

That all looks and sounds amazing. I'm suitably jealous... even though I ended up with half a duck this Sunday... shame...

All for the non-traditional Sunday though, who needs a roast week in, week out when there are other fantastic meals to mix it up with!

That sounds like my kind of Sunday Lunch. My husband insists on cooking a roast every single weekend would be great to have a change and a load less washing up.

Yum - I love cheese! I like a traditional roasts at lunch, then an evening of cheese, wine, crackers and posh Italian meats - nom!

what a wonderful Sunday lunch! I love bread and cheese and the one's on your picture look mouth watering! Plus I don't believe in "traditional" sunday meals, instead I feel like since it's the day we are meant to rest, we can indulge ourselves with pretty much anything!

This lunch looks so good. I love meals that are simple but really yummy (and that don't result in loads of washing up!) x

My sundays always include lots of cheese, tomatoes and bread, too. I just can't bother with cooking fancy meals on sundays, and cheese is delicious anyway!
