Winter Warmer

top - topshop, skirt - h&m (very old), belt - vintage, boots - schuh, headband - urban outfitters, bracelet - marc by marc jacobs

Brr! It's been so cold recently I've taken to wearing this headband even in doors to keep my ears warm. And I've managed to lose two pairs of gloves within the space of a week! Basically I am a winter disaster.

I wore this outfit at the weekend to go up to the Southbank, wander round Borough market and visit the Tate Modern. Further disasters occurred when I managed to drip the sauce out of my falafel wrap down my skirt and bag! And my fingers got so cold I ended up wearing my boyfriend's gloves, which looked decidedly giant and ridiculous when on my hands. So all in all not the most successful day out ever clothing wise, but at least I looked nice long enough for photos, and the wrap was delicious!

Looking stylish in the cold... is it even possible?? Please let me know your secrets if you have any?

Did you enjoy the exhibition at the Tate Modern?

Love the collar and the gorgeous burgundy skirt. Oh dear, I tend to dribble tooth paste down myself, also not very fetching. I do find it hard to look stylish, I recommend a good hat and leather gloves :) xx

Any sense of fashion dies when it's cold for me. A pub with warm loking lighting might be my solution.

I admire the women who have a stylish coat (mine is old and looks it) with faux fur stole, knee high boots and a warm looking hat (my head's tiny and therefore most look ridiculous on me). I'm hoping spring-like weather is here to stay.

Oh no I hate loosing gloves. You look rather nice here. Maybe the trick of looking good in winter lies in layering? I dunno.

You look perfectly stylish while I feel too lazy to dress up since the continuous snow is killing my urge to do anything but basically stay at home and mindlessly watch Big Bang Theory all day long. Eee, stripes! Loved the peter pan collar as well, you look really adorable. x

That skirt is so perfect for spring! Love it!

Also, I'm currently running a giveaway for the chance to win a Clarisonic Mia! I'd love it if you could check it out on my blog. xx

I think you look lovely and very stylish, and I totally feel for you losing your gloves. (Lost my dear old leather gloves the other day - and yesterday a lady from Boots found them in the 'lost property' box. This definitaly made my Valentine's Day :)

I love that top! I really wanted the grey version and missed it, even after searching on ebay. My only topshop love affair in so long.....I always miss the good ones. Your version here is so unique - and the bow!!! xxx

I really like your skirt :)

My fashion sense goes out the window in winter. I can't stand being cold so live in layered jumpers/hoodies etc. I would wear my duvet if I could xx

At least it warmed up slightly today. Loving the headband! It seems so perfect for the cold weather.

Let me just say, that head band is plain delightful!

I'm so far from stylish when it's cold out, it's not even funny. That, and I refuse to give up my entirely dorky rabbit mittens; they're just too hilarious (and warm), but not at all stylish. Ah well, can't win'em all. ;)

The wrap does sound delicious. It's got me thinking about my favourite halloumi wrap from Leon now..mm.

Love the outfit, especially the skirt. That length looks good on you

I like the multi-stripe thing you've got going on with this outfit, and I share your pain about falafel wraps - I lost a white vest top to a dollop of red pepper houmus...

As for looking stylish in the cold, I've taken to wearing over the knee socks over leggings - clashing textures and toasty legs!

I love this skirt, I can't believe you look this good even in the cold! I tend to wear thin layers and keep my extremities (hands and feet!) covered!

Love this look, especially the skirt! Dressing for the cold is so tricky, my tip is just layer, layer, layer!

I love the striped top with the pleated skirt :) Your day out sounds fun (aside from the spilage incident!) I'm terrible with dressing for the cold, always seem to not wear enough layers then regret it or too many and end up carrying things around!

Disaster day or not, you still look fabulous. I have had to find a way to make the cold work as the weather has been horrific up here in the North. Personally- the only things I eat come packaged if I'm out and about, my gloves live in my coat pocket, religiously, scarves were invented for a reason, and embrace boots, they'll keep your feet warm.

You look so stylish! When I get cold I usually wear jeans and lots of layers and boots, it doesn't really look very stylish. I really need some new winter boots but since it's nearly Spring I think I'll wait until next autumn.

I love the stripes combo, and the little collar is really cute. Too bad about the cold and the little accidents, here it already feels like spring.

Keeping warm and looking stylish is one tricky feat. I still haven't mastered the art, I find I'm always cold and have to layer up. I get annoyed when others are in light jackets and I'm shivering away with thick woolly layers! I think you've mastered the art of looking warm and chic. Really like the preppy feel the PP collar jumper brings to the look and that hair bow is super cute! x
