Magazines This Month

vogue-2
vogue-1
vogue-3
vogue-4

I probably buy a couple of magazines a month, though apart from my subscription to Practical Photography it very much depends who's on the cover and what the free gift is as to which fashion magazine I buy. This month it was Vogue and I was not disappointed. These is a stunning photoshoot with Sienna Miller (featuring live birds! it's amazing!) and way too many beautiful clothes to lust over. I haven't been very excited about any of the spring fashions so far this year, but I think this may have been the magazine to make me change my mind!

I always feel like a bit of a fraud with my issues of Practical Photography magazine - I am nowhere near their standard at all and I don't work at it nearly as hard as I should. But the magazine makes me want to be a better photographer, and it's so inspiring I would definitely recommend you try out a copy if you are looking for something to help you with your photography skills, or give you ideas for new techniques. It's relatively easy to understand what they are talking about too, so I don't feel too much like a novice when I read it!

Are you a regular magazine purchaser? Are you loyal to one mag or are you a bit promiscuous?!

I read art and photography magazines monthly. Fashion magazines are great to read at the hairdressers, but when I'm feeling colourful, I get myself a copy of French Vogue;-)

I have a subscription to InStyle, any other magazines I get depend on the freebie, like you. :) xo

I usually buy my favourite Japanese magazine when I can, but it's an expensive habit! So usually I buy cheaper magazines like Company occassionally. Now that I'm in HK, it's so tempting to stock up on lots but I can't because my luggage/weight will be obscene by the time I come home!

I'm a regular to Elle - they really balance out the fashion photography and advertisements with strong articles. I love finding more creative magazines too, but they only crop up in shops now and again - like 'Oh Comely'. That was amazing!
I haven't read this issue of Vogue but the shoot with Sienna Miller sounds class - especially with the live birds. Practical Photography is one of my favourites, too! X

I haven't bought many magazines at all really in the last couple of years, but recently my sister bought Company, and I LOVE their new look! All the content was really relatable, and I really enjoyed reading it, which doesn't usually happen with me and mags!

I'm terrible in that I'm such a magazine fiend...but I do read books as well, so I figure that counter-balances it!

The only conventional magazines I buy with any regularity is Grazia and Empire, the latter being my inner film geek shining through! But I've recently gotten into a lot of smaller magazines both in print and online such as Beautiful Magazine, SLink and Evolve....

I regularly read the beautiful 'oh comely' and 'little White lies' for my film fix. My sister showed me a copy of 'frankie' and it looks like my cup of tea so I'm going to invest in the latest issue of it for sure!

Oh my gosh, the spread with Sienna Miller looks gorgeous!

I should be as picky as you when it comes to magazines, because I'm certain it saves a bit more money to just buy certain issues(well, I guess that actually depends), but I've subscribed to Teen Vogue for three years and NYLON for one year now, and funnily enough, I recently unsubscribed from Seventeen magazine. I haven't even hit seventeen years of age! Hurr durr. I feel like I'm betraying my magazines when I don't renew my subscription, I guess!

I used to buy Marie Claire because I liked the mixture of high-end and high street fashion and their stories. Then a couple of years ago they seemed to change format and I felt their stories turned a bit.... trashy dare I say? Now I read blogs which are so much better for variety and you get to interact with loads of interesting people.

I might look into to Practical Photography though as I'd like to learn some new techniques. Thanks!

I used to buy every magazine out there, now I'm selective and buy maybe one a month?! x

Sienna Miller looks gorgeous on the cover!
I don't tend to buy magazines unless there's something really interesting.

A bought my dad a Practical Photography subscription for Christmas, partly so I could read it whenever I go home for a visit : )

I've scaled back a bit, but I still subscribe to Elle. I also read Cosmo, Vogue, Company, LOVE, Glamour, Marie Claire, Nylon, though not every month. Also get Dazed & Confused and Another Magazine in digital form - it was even worse when we before Borders closed down!

I gave up magazines a couple of years ago because they're expensive, but recently I went on holiday and bought a couple for the plane, including 'oh comely'. I loved it so much I just subscribed today! It has so many gorgeous pictures in it that I can cut out and stick on my office wall so I feel like it's good value.

That spread of Sienna looks loooovely. I'm going to have to scout out that image of her with her name in flowers - too pretty!

I used to be much more of a magazine buyer, but my budget is very tight at the moment, so I rarely if ever buy any right now. I do have a subscription to Canada's Style at Home though - it's my favourite. I used to subscribe to LivingEtc and Elle Canada, but have stopped in the last year. They were a luxury, not a necessity. :)

I only buy a mag if I am going somewhere long journey and that will completely depend on which covers interest me the most. I really want to read a photography mag, I will take your recommendation xxx

I buy knitting and sewing magazines, but I flit from one to another depending on the contents.
This issue of Vogue is beautiful!

I used to subscribe to several art and design mags. Then several of them folded, and when I moved I decided not to continue the others either. Now I buy them occasionally when something strikes my fancy at the newsstand, but I don't have any regulars. I'll have to check out Practical Photography as I'm always trying to improve when I can! :)

I might have to check out Practical photography as mine definitely needs some work. I very rarely buy magazines any more as I love the pictures but they have so many adverts they just make me want to buy more clothes. Vogue looks good this month though.

I will always love ELLE but I'm loving imported and indie mags these days too, like Frankie, Betty and Lionheart.

I love to buy magazines! I would be loyal to Frankie or Russh if I could buy them in Spain (I could subscribe but they are too expensive!). I usually drift amongst Vogue, L'Officiel and Company. I also try to buy Jalouse and Lula everytime!
