On Style

Jil-Sander-AW-2012

I haven't really kept up with Fashion Week this time around. I knew pretty early on I would be too busy to go to London Fashion Week, and somehow the urge to spend hours pouring over style.com never quite came so I am afraid I am a bit behind the times.

One show that really did stand out for me though was Jil Sander. I think the reason it resonated so much with me is that I feel like my style is growing up a bit, and this collection really encapsulated what I like right now. One look at my pinterest style board will show you my preference for demure, knee length dresses and skirts, in pale pink, navy blue and grey. I definitely have a love for a more ladylike look which I try to bring into my outfits, but I don't always achieve!

I still love my short skirts, and all things kitch and girly but in a couple of weeks I will officially be in my mid-twenties (eek!) and I can definitely see where my style is heading towards. I think I am officially ok with growing up though! Admittedly it would be nice if I could afford Jil Sander to help me out...

Has your style evolved as you've grown up? Was it strange to realise you suddenly didn't want to dress how you used to, or was it a more gradual thing?

My style has definitely evolved, in fact it's probably constantly evolving! Definitely getting a bit more "together" and "grown up" I would say, I'm 26 in July though :S xx

My style is evolving.... towards lolita! Which isn't really getting more mature XD But I just like it very much. As ever I really like ladylike things too and I am absolutely loving this Jil Sander collection! It's so elegant. Fashion Week does take up so much time! I loved the shows I saw in London but i haven't had the time to catch up on any more.

Stunning. Simple, clean lines are my favourite.

I didn't keep up with it much either this time round (the fashion weeks) but I agree pretty much wanted to get my hands on everything by Jil Sander. And I always used to wear dead short clothes but I feel the same way, I want to wear more heritage and midi length items. However when I wear pants and heels and go out on a night out with my friends and they are all in little weeny dresses, does somewhat make you feel slightly OAP. But still, I should stick to what I love and not compromise!

I think I'm kind of in that phase right now as I'm about to finally finish off my university career within the next 6 months. I'll also be celebrating my mid-twentieth birthday at the end of this year, and quite frankly, it's embarrassing/insulting to be mistaken for an 18 year old still. So I'm trying to evolve my look into something a little more mature & professional.

These pieces are so elegant, if only I could afford the price tag!~

This was truly a beautiful show! I can't say my style has ever 'grown up' - I keep mixing and matching according to how I feel in the morning. But if I could choose one designer it probably would be the whole collection of Haider Ackermann. xo

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, I stumbled upon an old disc of photos and couldn't believe how different I dressed a couple of years ago. I think a part of growing up comes a more mature and comfortable style xxx

I love these dresses too. Yes my style is definitely developing. I wear much more retro inspired ladylike fashion than I used to. Perhaps inspired by current trends though!

Mine's been through a pretty abrupt jump lately! One for the better though, I hope...

I love this collection! I think my style is evolving but it's still not that mature but who knows what next year will bring?!
