About four years ago I was obsessed with plaid. Obsessed. It was shortly before my stripes phase, and shortly after my long flowy skirt phase but what it mainly had in common with those two phases (and ok, the stripes phase I'm still in!) is that when I like something I wear it a lot.
Well I got over my plaid obsession and although I have a few pieces still left from it I don't think I've bought anything new in plaid until now. But I haven't seen much in the shops that I like recently (I've decided I'm not really a massive fan of pastels, neon or sportsluxe so there's not that much left...) so I didn't take much persuading to buy when I did see something that I liked!
I wore this on Saturday for my Dad's birthday - we went to see Salmon Fishing in the Yemen at the cinema which me and my mum loved, my boyfriend thought was ok and my dad hated... so uh, great birthday treat for him there! It had Emily Blunt and Kristen Scott Thomas in, both of whom I love so that was the main reason I enjoyed it, also Emily Blunt has a really nice flat in the film, and oh yes, her character is called Harriet!
As you can see I am steadfastly ignoring the fact that it's wet, cold and miserable in South East England at the moment. Note to self, sheer force of will alone is not enough to make wearing white shoes in a downpour a good idea.
