As the bank holiday weekend turned ot to be something of a washout last weekend we ended up going with my wet weather plans and forgoing a picnic by the river with a trip to see Moonrise Kingdom instead. I was a bit worried it would end up being too twee even for me, but I needn't have been. It trod the perfect line between twee and awesome - and the two children who play the leads were so good - I cannot believe how young they are!

I don't want to give too much away as we went in with no knowledge of the story really at all - and I think that is the best way to see it - but do go if you get the chance!

Plot looked really nice and I'm planning to see this movie but a friend told that she was a bit bored through the film. I'll decide for myself I guess! xxx

Hm, I saw it and thought it looked great, and I loved all the adult actors, but I actually found the two child leads to be really wooden. I know that's Wes Anderson's style, but I couldn't get into their story at all. It was still overall a fun movie though!

I watched this yesterday with no idea what it was going to be about and (somehow) never having seen a Wes Anderson film. I loved it, thought the actors were amazing and thought the way all the scenes were shot so symmetrically was awesome. It's always a good sign when whilst watching a film you look forward to recommending it, and I had that feeling a whole bunch with Moonrise Kingdom!

I'm really gutted I missed this as the cinema seems to not have it anymore. I heart Wes Anderson big time so I'm desperately waiting for the DVD now :( x
