Flower Fairy

flower fairy 1

shirt - primark, headband - emin & paul

I found this headband in my mum's room (thanks for letting me always borrow your stuff mum!) and immediately had to try it on. I prefer my headbands more Blair Waldorf than Boho usually, but I'm prepared to make an exception! It's made by Emin and Paul who I have a few things from. They have a stall in Greemwich Market on weekends (as far as I know it's still there!) that you should definitely visit if you are ever in the area.

Did you ever read those Flower Fairy books when you were younger? I was totally obsessed with them and longed to be a dainty and delicate flower fairy more than anything. Unfortunately I have never been dainty or graceful or remotely fairylike so after several years of never getting cast as a fairy in the school play that was a dream I had to give up! This headband really does remind me of Cicely Mary Barker's beautiful illustrations though.

I think it looks lovely. I never tend to wear that apart from at festivals but really there's no reason not to! xo

I was obsessed with the flower fairy books when I was little, but like you I realized I was not that graceful at a pretty young age! Still I think this looks super pretty on you!

Ooooh, that is pretty! I love an obnoxiously big hair flower. You really suit the look! Headbands worn over the top of the hair like that always remind me of flapper girls, and I think the Flower Fairy books were written around the '20s, weren't they? As an extremely tomboyish little girl, I had a secret love for the Flower Fairies and their pretty illustrations as well.

Also never give up your youthful dreams of playing a fairy :op I am horrendously clumsy and inelegant too, but in August I will be tripping around a stage as a fairy! Although an Olympian fairy in a toga, so no floral garland for me... (Sorry, that was completely irrelevant to your post. Hope you enjoyed the random anecdote anyway!)

How positively charming! Your mother has excellent taste, I must say. And it looks fab on you.
I wish I could wear headbands. I think I must have an awkwardly shaped skull or something because they always slide right up and off my head. Boo. So I'll just admire from afar.
