Autumn Days

I've been enjoying one of the last opportunities I'll probably get to be outside without a coat this year, but I can definitely see the first of the autumn leaves creeping into the edge of these photos.

This was my first attempt at taking outfit photos in public, now that I don't have the privacy of my parents' garden to use, and I think it went ok. I have a lot of really stiff photos I've had to throw away because I was really nervous, and had to immediately go stop and fiddle with my camera when anyone walked past. I think everyone must have thought I was really intent on photographing a wall!

To be honest the handful of dog walkers that did pass me really didn't seem that bothered at all. If like me you get super embarassed at the thought of others seeing you take photographs of yourself I would definitely say try and face the fear. I love outdoor photos so much more than inside ones, so I am going to have to brave it much more often now, and it wasn't as scary as I thought!

Really love the colours in this outfit Harriet, blue and camel always go nicely together. I did a public photo shoot once, my Mum took some pictures of me by a wall. Loads of people were walking by and I felt so nervous. Not sure I could do it on my own with a tripod haha

I can imagine how nervous you must have been starting out with taking pictures of yourself outside in the public place. I don't think I would be able to do it myself unless I found a very quiet and empty location. However, I think that you have done a great job!

You look so lovely and these photos are gorgeous Harriet. Oh, and we're (almost) shoe twins, I have the blue ones :) x

Harriet you look beautiful! I do get nervous taking photos outdoors but luckily I usually have Mark to take them for me!

The photos have turned out lovely! I get embarrassed a little, though think the boyfriend is more embarrassed to be seen taking photos! x

You look lovely! There is nothing I love more than a breton top and a beret - I guess I'm hooked up with the stereotype Parisian look, but it's so good to resist. Bring it Beatnik.

I get very self conscious when I'm taking photos ofmyself too, I am not even comfortable with being in front of the camera at all. But sounds like you nailed it! Good luck with the rest of public photoshoots. x

i've pretty much never been brave enough to try taking photos outside. I would love to one day though.

I love this outfit, the scarf and the beret with the stripes make it for me :)

These photos are lovely, I think you did really well. I'm just not brave enough to try. I am lucky enough to live somewhere that I can go outside undisturbed. I dread outside shots in the winter months though - I'm such a wimp!

Love this outfit - esp. those shoes - if you need me I'll be in Clarks.

You look very French in this outfit. Super cute. You're braver than I to take your photos in public, this is a great spot for them though :)

I love taking pictures in my garden, but I tried the local park once - the results weren't great. I need to face my fear too.

I love this autumn look. The skirt is so pretty.

These are lovely photos. I really need to face my fears of public blog photography as outdoor photos look so much better! Love this outfit for early autumn. x

Congrats on your first outside pictures! :) At first is embarrasing but then you get used to it, I guess. I usually take them on my rooftop when I'm alone but just because I really don't have time to go to parks or have a nice street... I love the outfit, it's very Parisian! :)

I love outside shots and think the shoot went quite well, I think the more you do sometimes even when people pass you just go about with no worries. I love the outfit with classic stripes!

You look great! I'd feel super awkward taking pictures of myself in public though. You may be brave but I don't think I'm ready for that quite yet. :P

i can see why i might be tricky, in a public space while people are going about their business must take a bit more determination that your back garden. turned out really well though even though it took a while to get moving. maybe you will get to know the locals this way?

Well done for getting out and taking shots - I've not tried using a tripod by myself yet - eek!

This is lovely - I can never quite get away with the American Apparel skirts but this looks great on you! It's a weird thing taking pictures in public, I think the main thing is not to worry too much - it did take me a while to get over taking pictures of cuddly toys in public ;-)

The tones in this outfit are great and that hat looks super cute. I love autumn but sad that we loose the light in the evenings.

Regards for photographing your self in public, I say keep going with it and if people ask just tell them what it's for. I take mine in public places all the time and I'm so used to it now that I don't even notice people watching me. I even take my tripod to the park and use my remote ha ha... Glad you gave it ago, the results are great! x

Major, MAJOR props for facing the fear and photographing yourself in public! I could never do it, so my hat's off to you! I can barely take scenery photos in public... I don't know why I get so self-conscious about it. I know no one cares or is watching me.

Why have I still not got a striped t-shirt in my life?! This must be corrected asap. You look absolutely adorable, the beret is a lovely touch!

Ah the local dog walkers think I'm an oddity, but at least I add amusement to their day :) It's funny seeing tourists walking past in full hiking gear and there's me twirling in my petticoats!
