Back to Mac

mac-modesty

Those of you who are more makeup savvy than me probably know this, but Mac runs a pretty awesome recycling programme called Back to Mac, where you take in 6 empty products, and they give you a free lipstick. How exciting is that?!

I am a bit of a Mac addict, but even so it has taken me the best part of a year to use up six products, even at the rate I get through eyeliner and their waterproof makeup remover which is uh-mazing, so I was pretty excited to trundle off to Mac with my empties and swap them for a brand new lipstick finally.

The colour is Modesty, and it's one of their creamsheen lipsticks, which I've never tried before. I think I am probably a matt lipstick girl really, as I wasn't totally crazy for the sheer finish of this. I wasn't wowed by the service I received either as even though the store wasn't busy the assistants didn't seem that interested in helping me find the right colour, compared with the Mac concession in Selfridges Manchester, where I bought my last Mac lipstick. They were so helpful, I just wanted to hug them!

Still, it was a freebie and I do like the colour, which is a nice natural pink, so all in all I think 'Go Mac!' for recycling and generally being awesome.

This does look like a really lovely colour, I would hope to get something back too as I always think of Mac as being really expensive!

I am so excited I nearly have enough empties for another lipstick, haha, I'm wishing my blusher to run out ASAP!

Oh yes, I use this all the time. In fact I have 6 waiting to take. Looks like a lovely everyday colour.

I actually really like the creamsheen finishes! They're my fave but probs because I have horrible chapped lips and matte finishes really don't agree with them!
This colour looks lovely though

Ooh you lucky thing! I'm only on my first MAC product so I still have a way to go before I can redeem my lippy : )

It's a really pretty colour and I had no idea they did that campaign. Such a good idea! I need more MAC in my life.

They try to keep quiet in store about back to MAC but it's so nice to be able to experiment with the freeness!

What a lovely color! I love MAC lipsticks, such a large variety of colors and slightly more affordable than the fancy stuff. (And I love the simple packaging too.)

I wish pink tones would work for me, sigh. My skin's understone is yellow so they look terrifying on me. But I loved it nevertheless.

Yeah this is a good deal hey? i do love MAC, but i tend to find I get really slow service in most MAC stores (except for the Myers across the road from my work - they know me pretty well there...)

it's a great idea of theirs, not only because they recycle but also for them it means people will buy more of their products to make up the 6 they need to get a free one. that's a shame the service wasn't very good, but at least the lipstick was free! :)

The best kind of freebie has to be a MAC one xxx

Good on ya for trying a new finish, I think Back to Mac is the perfect opportunity to try something new, I did it a few weeks ago and got 'Morange' - a colour I would never dream of taking a risk on normally. It's worked out brilliantly and I love the shade! Modesty looks like lovely wearable colour xx
