jeans - gap, blouse - h&m, shoes - accessorize
Oh hey upper thighs, fancy seeing you again? If you look back at my outfit archives you may notice that I never really wear jeans, and hardly ever trousers at all. In fact I'm pretty sure I haven't bought a pair of jeans for maybe four years now.
I'm not really sure why, but I decided they didn't look that flattering on me, so I just stopped wearing them. It was around the time I first got into blogging, and seeing so many bloggers in skirts and dresses made me want to toss out my old jeans and t-shirts for good, and embrace something a bit more exciting.
I'm still pleased I did this, it forced me to experiment with my clothes in a way that I probably wouldn't have if I'd kept my jeans around, and I like the way it feels to wear a dress, and to feel dressed up and like you've made an effort. But last week for some reason the urge to get back into a pair of jeans came over me, and after a surprisingly quick trip to Gap I came out with a pair of black straight leg 1969s (I'm definitely not up to skinnies and I'm not sure I ever will be) and they feel pretty good!
I think I'm becoming less interested in being dressed up all the time, and more interested in attempting something more refined. I'm not quite sure how that's going to go, but I'm looking forward to finding out.
