Cos Collar

collar - cos, jumper courtesy spoilt brat

I first saw this collar on Sandra and thought it was a great idea, and then I spotted Kristabel wearing one and I was officially obsessed. It's a mock collar from Cos, and basically when you don't have a jumper over the top it looks a bit like a bib, but (hopefully) when you wear it under something it looks like it could be a proper shirt. It's perfect for me because I'm terrible at layering - I always get all hot and sweaty, and nothing ever lies flat and it's basically just a disaster.

Plus with a real shirt I have a regular problem with my boobs popping the buttons open (anyone else get this, or is it just me who has to keep a wary eye on that area whenever I'm wearing a button up?) but this has adjustable straps at the side to hold it in place so it fits perfectly.

I wanted to try it on in the shop because it comes in two sizes and I wasn't really sure what the difference would be (different sized necks?!) but despite stalking a number of Cos stores I couldn't see it anywhere so I ended up ordering the smaller one. It fits fine (so I still have no idea what the difference is!) but the postage charge for their website was very high for such a small thing, which was the only thing that let it down. Still I can see myself wearing it loads with jumpers and high necked dresses so I think it will be worth it.

O wow I love it! The collar looks great under your jumper - which is awesome by the way! I'm at that awkward stage where it feels like most of my clothes have their own collar already but this is adorable!

I love this, think it is a really neat idea for layering without boiling to deal, haha!

The collar is amazing, but what I really love is the jumper! xo

I love the collar. I know what you mean about buttoned shirts, after one too many disasters I have given up with them!

Very cute! I don't have the problem of shirts busting open (har har) but I do have to be careful with what sweater (or jumper) I wear over a button-up...because if it's too thin then you see the outline of every button and seam, which just looks a mess. I'm actually always cold this time of year, though, so I prefer a full shirt underneath. But this collar could come in handy when the weather turns warmer. It looks very cute on you. :)

Oh this is lovely! I'm always tempted by those detachable Peter Pan collars but they never look quite right - this looks ideal! x

Ah I'm so glad you got this! I found the large in store and it fits fine, though it is on the tightest setting at the sides. Still, good if I ever double in size! I like how you've teamed the sweet collar with an illustrative jumper, really good idea I may have to pinch. I hope they come up with more designs, colours etc, this collar is the answer to many prayers!

Looks like a great piece. And you styled it so well! I think detachable collars are a great idea!

How cool is this? Fantastic idea! I'm always a bit wary about button poppage with button up shirts too... darn boobs.

What a fab idea! I love the layered look but can't get it right, and I feel bulky and uncomfortable. Sadly, lack of boobage means I do not have the same button issues but I do have wide shoulders which means fitted shirts never fit properly *sigh*
Love these photos btw

This looks so cute! I am terrible at layering too, I always end up looking like a lumpy mess so this is a great idea. x

Love this collar! haha I've had my boobs pop open buttons before. Usually means it's too tight :/ I unfortunately had it happen on my way to an interview but thankfully a woman on the subway pointed it out to me.

would never have known it was a collar if you hadn't mentioned it. really cool. wonder if they do actual full shirts with this too?
