I realise it's probably not smoothie weather right now but I wanted to try my hand at something other than soup in our blender (I've used it pretty much every weekend since we got it - officially in love!) so smoothies it was. I'm still working on the ultimate combination of healthy and delicious, but this one worked out pretty well:
.Large handful of fresh spinach
.One banana roughly sliced
.Couple of large handfuls frozen berries (mine are strawberries and blueberries from sainsburies)
.2-3 dessert spoonfuls natural yoghurt
.Half a glass of fruit juice of your choice
.Small spoonful of honey.
Erm, then you pretty much blend it and enjoy. I am very obsessed with getting my five a day, so it was pretty good to get so much in before 10am (ok, 10.30 - I made this on a Sunday!) and I'm pleased to say that you couldn't really taste the spinach, which was only really there because of the number of articles I've read about green juices recently.
