Smoothie Making

I realise it's probably not smoothie weather right now but I wanted to try my hand at something other than soup in our blender (I've used it pretty much every weekend since we got it - officially in love!) so smoothies it was. I'm still working on the ultimate combination of healthy and delicious, but this one worked out pretty well:

.Large handful of fresh spinach
.One banana roughly sliced
.Couple of large handfuls frozen berries (mine are strawberries and blueberries from sainsburies)
.2-3 dessert spoonfuls natural yoghurt
.Half a glass of fruit juice of your choice
.Small spoonful of honey.

Erm, then you pretty much blend it and enjoy. I am very obsessed with getting my five a day, so it was pretty good to get so much in before 10am (ok, 10.30 - I made this on a Sunday!) and I'm pleased to say that you couldn't really taste the spinach, which was only really there because of the number of articles I've read about green juices recently.

I love adding spinach to smoothies because I can never taste it but it's so good for you. Unfortunately I am all out of smoothie making ingredients (I am desperately overdue for a trip to the grocery store) but when I do have fruit on hand again, I am definitely going to be making a smoothie. Mmmm.

This looks pretty good! Spinach is excellent for you and on every one of those 10 foods you must eat-type lists, so it's great if you can work it into fruity drinks. :)

Mmmmmm... so delicious and health! I need to try it <3 I'm sure my doctor is going to be pround of me that I drink so healthy stuff ^^

Yum! I love berries and bananas, but never thought about adding spinach - can you taste it? x
