Angus and Julia Stone

I am pretty backwards when it comes to music. I would love to be one of those people who is always on the hunt for new bands and discovers the next big thing before it was big but in reality I'm still listening to the same music I was ten years ago (If they weren't on the Dawson's Creek soundtrack I haven't heard of them).

Case in point at lunch last week we were discussing music at work and one of our Australian secondees recommended brother and sister duo Angus and Julia Stone. I looked them up at the weekend and fell in love, only to discover they are not only not the next big thing, they've been the big thing and have now split up to persue solo projects!

Oh well, at least I have a good back catalogue to listen to!

I know how you feel! I listen to 8tracks at work which is basically a load of playlists that you can thumb through by genre - that's how I heard about Angus and Julia - but only a couple of months ago, which still makes me behind!

Oh my! I've known about them, but thought they were husband and wife! Shows you how much research I did :) They are great though and I'm interested in what their solo albums would be like. Thanks for filling me in! <3

ahahah :) - I m the same, I used to listen to a lot of music when I was in university and it seemed so easy as everyone was always listening to sth new and suggesting it but nowadays I seem to hear the same things over and over. I had a similar experience with "Garbage"- i loved them, I looked upw hen is their next concert only to find out that they've gone separate ways!

Oh I love these two! It surprised me to find out they were siblings at first, but now I find it quite endearing:) I just posted about them a few weeks ago, angus's song "monsters" is a really great one!

I love them too:) But I'm always on the hunt for new artists! I can spend days clicking recommendations on YouTube;)

But I also listen to old music. Once you fall in love with certain songs you just want to keep listening to them, even if you've known them for years and years and years.

Don't feel bad, I've never heard of them! I'm definitely still listening to bands from 10 years ago too. I will get in the mood to discover new music every now and then, but I never really like anything that much and usually give up after a while. It seems like so much work to find new music! Or maybe I'm just hard to please.
