Not perhaps the most attractive of meals but last weekend we made pizzas and damn it was good! It is such a satisfying thing to make. My top tip (learnt from James' brother Will) is that if you knead the dough on a dusting of polenta flour it helps make the base crisp, and avoids the dreaded soggy bottom that Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood would have you executed for! We used this bbc good food pizza sauce recipe and this waitrose pizza dough recipe both of which worked marvelously. I went for an exiting pear, leek and blue cheese combination which was sensational if I do say so myself. James of course had pepperoni!
