Paris Day Three and Four

On our third day in Paris (and out last full day) we went to Versailles. My main two tips if you want to go to Versailles are to buy the all inclusive ticket (€18/€25 depending on season) to get in, as otherwise you have to pay for each area separately and it costs way more, and to get there early. We queued for two hours to get in(!) and it was so busy when we were inside, it was hard to see everything.

It was absolutely stunning though. I wish we had seen the gardens in full bloom, but even without leaves it was beautiful, and the Hall of Mirrors and Marie Antoinette's bedroom were both really beautiful. It was so overwhelming with gold and paintings and patterns, there was barely even a corner that wasn't covered in some kind of decoration.

In the evening we had pizza and ice cream at our hotel. Not very Parisian perhaps, but pretty good!

In the morning of our last day we went to a free exhibition of couture gowns at the town hall. No photos were allowed, but if you are in Paris before the end of July I really recommend it. So many pretty dresses!

We finished off our trip with a visit to Laduree on the Champs Elysees. I have never been to the London one, so I was pretty excited to visit the Paris one and try some of the macarons! I had the club sandwich (with the best chips ever!) and four mini macarons for dessert. As I said in my previous post about Paris I think the Angelina macarons win slightly for me, but Laduree was pretty delicious too, and I feel I am something of a macaron connoisseur now!

With that we headed back on the Eurostar to London. I had such a lovely trip, I will definitely be back again, soon I hope!

I need to go see Versailles! Although I'll probably end up seeing it in winter, so no gardens for me :( I never even realised Laduree did proper food, so I'll keep that in mind for next time.

Didn't manage to make it out to Versailles when I was in Paris last summer - it looks amazing! Definitely on the list for next time :) Awesome photos!

Oh yay - Versailles :) I love seeing pictures of here. I can't wait to see the rest of your Paris posts! And you must go to any of the Ladurees in London when you miss Paris - even if you only get one macaron <3.
