Inspiration Drain

shelf

I'm going through a bit of blogger's bloack at the moment. I often find that when I am super busy in other areas of my life, I am actually ok at keeping up with blogging, but when I come out the other side of a busy period, like now, I feel like my inspiration is just gone. I think I use up all of my store of post ideas floating around in my head, and because I've been so busy I haven't actually done anything, so I've had no opportunities to replenish my inspiration.

On top of this I feel like the past few months have led to a bit of a change in blogging direction for me. I still love fashion and clothes of course (of course!) but where in the past I very much thought of my blog as a fashion blog, I don't really anymore. I feel like my interests have changed and evolved a ridiculous amount since I started blogging, and while I am definitely not giving up outfit photos any time soon, I do want to have a bit of a think about where this little blog is going next.

Anyway that is my round about way of saying that given the closest thing to a blog post I can come up with is this photo of my kitchen shelves, I am going to take a little blogging break for a week or so and recharge my blogging batteries and get my inspiration back.

If you have any tips for what you do to get your blogging mojo back, and how you get inspired about blogging please do let me know in the comments!

ooh I wish I knew how to get the mojo back! I think it's just the repetitive aspect of blogging that causes these dips in inspiration, taking some time out is definitely a good idea x

Blogging block hits us all! I took part in a blogging challenge (Rosalliums Blog Every Day In May) and that's really helped me get back into blogging, even though some of the post topics didn't really appeal to me. Xo

I definitely go through 'phases' with inspiration! I find doing 'real life' stuff helps as it gives you chance to recharge your batteries and also have something to write about!!

Taking a break sounds like the best idea. It's funny how we can all feel penned in by our niche at times when actually we can blog about anything we like. I enjoy your non fashion posts as much as your fashion ones so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your blog represents you and your interests, it's fun to let it develop.

A blogging break every now and again is a good idea. I sometimes feel like I have a thousand things to write about but no time in which to do it or have time but no inspiration - always the way! My blog has changed direction too from when I started, I hardly ever write about make-up these days but its good to evolve and go into new areas. Enjoy your "time off" and looking forward to your return already! x

I know just how your feeling, I always find keeping a note book where you can jot down ideas help as sometimes I have more blog posts ideas than I have time to actually do them and then when I am quite I go back and see what I have and havn't posted and pick ones I would still like to do, works for me, might help :)

I think the best thing is really to take a break and do other things, read, watch films, go out and do things in town. Then suddenly I find there are too many things I want to blog about! :)

I don't see my blog as a solely a fashion blog either - I try and change it up a bit. I really understand how difficult it is to keep motivated and sometimes I just don't want to look at my blog at all - especially after long days at work and the last thing you want to do is stare at a laptop writing up posts!

I go through seasons with blogging too :) I think it's good your blog is evolving with you in the midst of everything! Lately I have been making personal goals outside of blogging - like baking a cake I've always wanted to make, going somewhere I've always wanted to go, reading a book - because one thing leads to the next and instead of feeling like I'm going to run out of ideas, more come :D You have a lovely blog, wether you feel inspired or not!

Enjoy your blogging break. The best advice I can give is not to worry too much - everyone goes through phases with their blog and we'll all be here when you come back :)

I feel a little like this. I started my blog for all things style and fashion but this has now changed. I think a blog needs to evolve, as people we are constantly changing and growing so it's only natural that a blog does too. I hope you blog break helps, I really enjoy your posts, what ever the subject.
