I never go to my local farmer's market as often as I should. Luckily its always buzzing when I do go, so there doesn't seem too much risk of it closing down due to my neglect! I really love looking at all the wares on display - the bread is so scrumptious (there's a stall that does the most amazing focaccia), and the vegetables are so much more reasonably priced than the supermarket, which always surprises me as I would expect the supermarket to be the cheaper. I guess you are always getting the in season crops at the market, so that helps lower the price as there are no air miles involved.
I do have to get used to accepting my produce won't look as attractive as in the shops, but it tastes even better. I also love trying all the juices and cheeses on display as well, and the samples almost always persuades me to buy! This time I only picked up some vegetables for the week, but I will be back for another round of Bath soft cheese next week for sure.
