Keep On Running

Way back at the start of the year my New Years' resolution was to run before work twice a week. This went really well for about a month, kind of well for the next 3-4 months, and then very badly for the past few...

After about a month of burning the candle at both ends in terms of eating, sleeping, drinking and work I am determined to get back into my running routine and generally get a bit healthier. I am ashamed to say new workout clothes are always a good way for me to get myself out and running, and so a combination of being sent these Nike Frees to try out from Sportshoes.com (they are just the comfiest thing I have ever had on my feet!) and some vouchers left to spend at Sweaty Betty means I am feeling ready to run again! Of course sometimes old clothes are the best, and my Phuket Thailand t-shirt which was a promo for the film Juno, and free with a pint of cider at uni, is still my favourite running top.

I am setting myself the goal to run 100km between now and the end of the year (there - I've said it on the internet so I've got to stick to it now!) which I think is just about achievable if I really keep to my twice a week running plan. I'd better start getting some mud on these trainers pretty soon though...

Yikes, that is quite the challenge!
I am so hopeless at running, I swim daily and usually do either a gym workout or a spin class after work (sometimes both) but running is just something I'm not great at.

Good luck! I've started working out again and it's a struggle to stick with it but I am determined! x

I have those shoes and they are super comfy, especially when running outside. I need to get back in the gym properly, I have got really out of the habit which is always dangerous!

I started running at the beginning of the year as well and I will say that you're right - new gear definitely keeps me going haha! I had a couple of moments where I've just wanted to give up, but I couldn't, because I'd just done a $50 running clothes haul... Good luck with your goal!

We have the same socks - can't beat SB for them! I think it's easy to cut back on running over summer, what with holidays, festivals, post-work pub gardens etc but it's great that you're getting back into it :) x

Hehe, I think new gear would encourage me to run too! I've only just started running again after 3 years of doing not much at all really. It really does takes some motivation to get out there hit it feels great afterwards!
Good luck with your challenge!

Free Runs are so freaking comfy aren't they. Hollie said I should get a pair but I wasn't that fussed, but since then I'm never going back. Nike seem to be the best all round, in spec and looks I think. I have a pair of Nike Powerlines and some brand new Flyknit Lunars too, you may say I'm slightly obsessed. Yes.

You can totally do your goal! I got a pair of trainers, too and they are SO PRETTY. Didn't think I'd feel like that about trainers but I love them!

Good luck with your goal to run 100k between now and the end of the year. Sweaty Betty definitely make the best exercise clothes.
