Black and Blue

all-blue-1
all-blue-3
all-blue-2
all-blue-4
hat - accessorize, top - topshop, bangle - kate spade, skirt - french connection, shoes - primark, bag courtesy marks and spencer

As I mentioned the other week, I am living out of a suitcase at the moment, and it turns out when I pack just my favourite clothes to last for a month or two, it involves and excessive amount of blue.

The skirt is one I had tailored at the waist and I'm so glad I did. I resisted at first with the opinion of 'I've already spent money on this skirt, why should I spend more?' but it really didn't fit as it was just too big on the waist (and yet perfectly fitted on the hips - my eternal problem) and so I did not wear it whereas now it's definitely one of my go to items. If you are considering having something tailored because it doesn't fit right then I would absolutely recommend it. If I hadn't then this skirt would have been just sitting in my wardrobe unworn which would have been such a waste of money.

Blues suit you very well, so it's good that you choose them when you have to choose a selection of clothes - I don't think I'd be very good at picking just a few things to create a capsule wardrobe, but it's a challenge I've considered taking on for a while.

I've had a couple of pairs of smart trousers tailored and they made them fit perfectly so i would say it's well worth it. It's really flattering on you. Navy rules, defo my most worn colour.

Pretty outfit, love the colours and I have a similar pair of shoes that I have been wearing to death!

I feel the same about getting shoes reheeled - it costs as much as the original sometimes but it's worth it if you really love something :)

You look lovely here, I definitely need to get things tailored, an 8 inch difference between my waist and hips can be hard to dress!

The bag is lovely. Adore the simplicity of this ensemble, too.

That is such a lovely skirt, it would have been such a shame to leave it at the back of your wardrobe! It's a lovely length too xo
