Ikea Trip

Are ikea hauls a thing? If so then I am definitely joining the haul-ing community. It was a cold and wet Sunday last weekend and so the obvious thing to do was to abandon our lovely warm home and trek across most of south east London to Ikea. Apparently we shared this idea along with everyone else who lives in south east London, and their children. I was actually quite pleased we got there via an hour and a half on two trains and a tram, because the number of people who looked like they'd been circling the carpark looking desparately for a space for a similar amount of time was quite ridiculous. Ikea is the place to be, clearly!

Our main purpose was to eat meatballs and daim bar cake research wardrobes and kitchens for the new house, but we ended up picking up a few things too. Going by public transport at least stopped me going too overboard on purchases. Some pokal glasses as we have four already and they are always in the washing up bowl when I want a drink, some extra 365+ tupperware because ditto, the ensidig vase, which is remarkably similar to one I saw in John Lewis and liked for approximately 10 times the price, and two barbar trays because we don't own a dining table yet so I forsee quite a few meals on our laps before we finally get the kitchen sorted.

We have those glasses too, though we all do right? They're cracking.

Haha I love IKEA, I don't really buy much from there but I love looking at the stuff! Also, meatballs...

I love Ikea so much, getting more excited than is probably normal whenever I get to go! Their picture frame & artwork section is my current favourite part!

I love Ikea! I've not been for a few months, a trip is definitely due. Love that milk bottle style vase, I'm desperately in need of a new vase as I currently have a bunch of flowers residing in a pint glass (classy!) xx

They are gorgeous trays! We're planning a trip to Ikea at the end of November, mainly to research wardrobes and sofas but I'm sure there'll also be a lot of meatball and cheesecake eating as well! :-) x

I have both of those trays too! We have been to IKEA quite a bit over the past year. It's always hectic and involves lots of traffic getting there and back. I always think, "why don't we just run to IKEA really quickly and get that thing?" And then our "quick trip" turns into an all-day affair. It's usually worth it, though, as they have everything you could ever need under one roof, and usually for a price that can't be beat.

And there are always so many little kids here too! Apparently, that's what families do on the weekend: shop at IKEA. Last time we were there, a super cute little girl was testing out all children's beds...getting under the covers with her teddy bear and taking a mini nap before moving on to the next one! :)
