Hogwarts in the Snow

Ever since the Harry Potter Studio tour opened, Reda and I have promised each other we'd go, but between trying to book holiday at the same time and other things we never quite made it. A couple of weeks ago though I saw the 'Hogwarts in the Snow' poster on the tube, and decided we were definitely going to go this time, and so off we went on Monday!

Like most people my age I grew up with Harry Potter, and although I probably wouldn't read them again now (I don't think I would feel the same as I did about the books when I first read them, and I don't want to ruin the good memories I have of reading them!) I have to say I was a little bit excited to go explore the world of the films!

It really did feel quite magical, the tour was perfectly timed so there were never too many people around at once and you really got a chance to look at everything. All of the props and sets are so detailed and beautiful, I was really impressed. I can't imagine what it must have been like to be involved with the films and to be on those sets for real.

My favourite bit of the tour was definitely Diagon Alley - I loved looking in the windows of all the shops and seeing all the perfectly crafted displays and merchandise! The actual shop itself by contrast was a bit disappointing - I found a lot of the things a bit tacky, and only came home with a couple of very expensive chocolate frogs. Also butterbeer is officially horrible - bleurgh!

I'm going to this when we're in London later this year, I'm so excited! Too bad the butterbeer isn't that great :\

I went a few months ago and loved it so much! I wasn't a fan of butterbeer either but my boyfriend loved it and happily had my cup too, how he didn't feel sick after it I don't know!!

I'd love to go there! I watched some special once about the set designs and was so fascinated by every detail. I bet it's magical no matter what age you are. :)
