I think this must just be the most beautiful blog related package I've ever received! Fragrance Direct offered to send me one of their gift sets to review, and not having the opportunity to go into a store and give everything a good sniff, I judged purely on looks, and went for the purfume with the prettiest packaging. It turned out to be a good call!
I am no perfume expert, but I would say Valentino Valentina is a grown up floral scent, quite refined with a bit of a hint of licorice. My boyfriend's ever so helpful verdict was 'you smell very perfumy' - which I took to mean it was less like my usual perfumes which have a strong single flavour - DKNY Delicious' appley scent was probably my first perfume, followed by Chloe Eau De Parfum which is distinctively rose scented.
This however is definitely a perfectly blended scent, which the packaging tells me has '...top notes of bergamot, peach and truffle, blending with a heart of tuberose, jasmine and vanilla, all of which is rounded off with a smooth base of cedar, oak moss and patchouli...' I have no idea where I got the licorice idea from all that, but whatever it is, it smells divine!
