The Blue Dress

dress - warehouse, scarf - primark, shoes - bata

I bought this dress shortly before Christmas and it has quickly become one of the hardest working items in my wardrobe. It's taken me to a 60s themed New Years Eve, drinks with clients at work, and dinner with my Grandparents. It's not easy ot find one piece of clothing that works for so many different occaisions!

These are my first outfit photos taken in my new garden, and as you can see it needs some work! We've inherited a lot of dead plants, several lamp posts (very Narnia) and a couple of pottery elephants which I have actually grown to quite like! It's not a high priority area for us in the house at the moment, but something I am hoping to get to at some point this year. The decking is old, slipper and rotten, and is damaging the house as it stops water eascaping properly, making the back wall quite damp. The blue fence and elephants made me think of Yves Saint Laurent's garden in Morocco so maybe we'll do something Moroccan themed with it eventually.

That dress is lovely, and you blend in with your garden colours! I really like the elephants, I must admit.

Awesome dress, I have a green tea dress that kind of works like that for me- it does me for work (well, it did until we got stupidly conservative about colour), drinks, dinners, meetings and works as well bare legged as with thick tights. I am actually tempted to dye it a work appropriate colour I love it so much!

I quite like your ceramic elephants- but good luck on the coming renovations!

Beautiful dress and I really love it with that scarf! You should definitely go Moroccan in the backyard with those elephants.

it's great having simple, fairly basic items in your wardrobe because you can wear them for so many occasions and dress them up or down. i have plain black and plain grey skater dresses in my wardrobe and i just know i can count on them whenever i don't know what else to wear.
