A picture of the week

This week has felt like forever. After a week and a half on holiday, the effort of going to work (and dealing with the tube strike as well) left me utterly exhausted every evening. I so nearly rainchecked on Reda, when she was due to come over on Friday night to cook and catch up, but I am so glad I didn't as seeing her always makes me feel better. We made a super simple prawn linguine with the most expensive prawns I have ever bought (did not look at the price til I got to the till, oops!), lemon, coriander, olive oil and garlic and followed it up with Ben & Jerry's baked alaska ice cream. Then about 10pm when we were both yawning we decided to call it a night, and I pretty much crawled into bed as soon as she left and fell deeply asleep.

Saturday was a day of getting the house in order and dealing with all the chores I was too tired to do in the week. The kitchen has been scrubbed, and a dent made on the overflowing washing basket too. Today James and I are taking a day for ourselves, which probably means going out for pizza, and knowing we still have Monday off to look forward too is blissful!

Have a great long weekend!

God the tube strike must have been a pain! I got stuck in it last time, it was not an enjoyable experience after a long day at work!

Sounds like a great way to spend the weekend after such a busy week. I find it really difficult to find the energy to keep up with friends but it is always worth it when I do.
