Grown Up Weekend

zara-shopping-list

I'm having a total Zara moment at the moment. I definitely feel an online shopping order coming on. I have talked extensively about making my work wardrobe a bit more grown up, and now I am looking to do the same with my weekend clothes.

I don't know if it is the season (autumn is always the time to reinvent yourself isn't it?) or just a need for a refresh but I am moving more and more away from my old style of mini skirts, high heels and printed tees to something a little more elegant. I still love a good mini (I'm wearing one as I type this!) but I am generally finding myself drawn to clothes which are a bit less cute'n'quirky and a bit more pared down.

I am endlessly pinning midi skirts, Breton tops and ballet flats. What I previously thought of as boring now appeals to me a lot more, and I want to get back into wearing scarves and jewellery to brighten up a more basic, classic wardrobe. Zara, Hobbs and John Lewis are currently my favourite places to shop, and the urge to shop is strong!

What's your autumn shopping list looking like?

I feel like I'm back on this trail too- new job, new work space, and it feels like such a switch as I was away from London all of September, I've gone from summer to autumn in a few short days. Currently really enjoying La Redoute- I used them years and years ago, but their pricing seems a bit more consistent these days and so does their sizing which always used to be a bugbear. Hello casual trousers as opposed ripped jeans and loose blouses as opposed technical sports tops.

Yes to Zara. I love their pieces so much. They seem to be going from strength to strentgh the last few seasons.

I'm on a self-enforced spending ban and have been for the last six weeks - it's so hard because Zara is one of my favourite high street shops and they have so much goodness in there right now! I may have to break the ban if I spot the perfect pair of silver glittery block heels though...

I really like this hat. Although I know it wouldn't suit me. I'm looking for a scarf ;)

I love the peach dress! I need to sort out my autumn wardrobe - the cold weather has snuck up on me a bit - I was still in summer dresses a week ago! x
