Or maybe that should be a picture of the month? Oops it's been a while...
The last time I blogged I was on my way to India, which feels like a long time ago now. What have I been up to since then? I finished up at my old job this week, which was stressful and emotional. It still hasn't quite hit me that it's not my problem any more - I catch myself thinking about something I was working on and then remembering it doesn't matter! I start my new job tomorrow so I am sure I will have plenty to distract me soon enough. I thought I would be more nervous but I am actually really excited. After working in the same place for six years I am ready for a change, although I am not looking forward to the first six months or so where I don't quite know what's going on and have to ask all the questions. For so long I've been the old timer people come to with questions, so it'll be strange to have the roles reversed.
I feel like the new start at work is giving me a bit of new-years-esque push to change things up a bit in my life. I want to get back into blogging and creating more, do more cooking and eat better, and actually start doing some exercise again. I went to the gym with my sister while I was off last week and it was actually really fun. We've also been seeing lots of friends - we've barely had a weekend at home, which has been wonderful but exhausting. Everyone I know is either having a baby or buying a dog, so we've been touring the country meeting them all.
Work starts on our bathroom renovation in a couple of weeks too, which is super exciting! We have to move in with my parents for three weeks while it is done, and while we get on really well with them I am just dreading the upheaval of it all. I am so looking forward to it finally being done though, and having a bath again.
So yes, all of the above is pretty much why I haven't blogged in a while, to be honest I have barely turned on my computer this month, but here's to new starts, and to getting back into the swing of things!
