Happy Valentines Day! I'm not super into it, but it's dark and cold and wet and any excuse to celebrate something right now is ok by me. My work gave us all pink roses on Friday, which was cute, and someone cut Lionel Ritchie lyrics out of massive sheets of paper and laid them out in the atrium so you could see them from all the floors in the building which was quite funny to see!
James and I usually exchange cards and cook something nice, or order take away. I think the plan is probably an M&S dine in for £20 meal deal for tonight, or else I am considering baked Camembert, as I got him a Camembert baker for Christmas and we still haven't used it yet. That's basically a crime.
Best of the week: Um, I hate to be all about food but pancake day, omg! Somehow our pancakes just worked really well this year - we followed this BBC Good Food Pankcake Guide and it was fool proof. Toppings of choice were lemon and sugar (of course) and nutella. I'm feeling hungry just writing about them!
Worst of the week: I managed to break or lose so much this week. I lost my phone charger on Tuesday, and my dry cleaning ticket on Thursday, but the worst was the dishwasher broke on Wednesday. Cue us (well ok, mainly James) cleaning up the mess at 11pm on Wednesday night and spending all of Thursday evening hand washing the full load of dishes we had in there. I am not sure if we are going to try and see if it can be mended, but it came with the house and is donkeys years old, so I am not sure if it is worth it. We were going to replace it when we redo the kitchen anyway, so we may just see if we can manage without for a bit.
